Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata)

 

A favourite of sunny meadow and prairie gardens. In the wild, grows in wet meadows and ditches (so it definitely prefers moisture).

 

Height: 3-5ft

Bloom period: mid to late summer

Exposure: full sun to partial sun

Moisture: moist to average

Native Habitat: damp thickets, wet meadows

  • PRODUCT INFO

    Spikes of purple blue flowers appear in mid summer and continue for weeks (will bloom again if you deadhead!). Blooms start opening at the base of the spike and progress upwards. Attracts bees & is a nectar plant for butterflies.
